Morning Services
We have a weekly morning service at 10.30am, three of these are Eucharistic, one is Morning Prayer with Bible teaching. Some are suitable for all-ages when our worship is lively and more contemporary. Children of any age are very welcome and it is not unusual to see a few toddlers pottering about the church during the service – they particularly enjoy climbing the (low) pulpit steps. It is at our all-age services that we welcome those preparing for baptism. Some services are more traditional and reflective when we sing traditional hymns, enjoy hearing anthems sung by our choir and we use the organ. We realise that there isn’t a one size fits all for worship.
Evening Services
We have a weekly evening service at 4.30 and these are quieter and are appreciated by many of our older people on their own. We have traditional Book of Common Prayer services as well as Common Worship services.
Festivals
Our two major festivals Christmas and Easter are celebrated in style. At Christmas we have a carol service, Christingle and Crib services as well as a Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. We enjoy singing carols, hearing the nativity story and remembering that Jesus, God’s son, was born in a stable. At Easter we have services every evening of Holy Week as we accompany Jesus up to Good Friday. On Easter Saturday we have an all-age service when we prepare our Easter Garden. Then during the Easter Sunday morning service we rejoice that Jesus has risen from the dead; to show this joy our church is decorated with flowers.
